I am a London based photographer with a particular interest in the traditional and classical approach to black and white portraiture.

I have always been drawn towards the authentic representation of a moment or an individual. My work over the past few years, within this theme, has been diverse across landscapes, architecture and portraiture. This diversity is reflected in examples of my work from being the first photographer to work in the slums of Kajjansi in Uganda for the Bridging a Gap Community Initiative's fundraising campaign to undertaking a bespoke corporate artwork project for St James's Place, London. My work also includes portraiture and headshots for individuals and agencies, as well as having a particular interest in ballet.

In addition to commercial work I am always seeking to explore the many aspects of portraiture. I am currently undertaking two personal projects:

The first, The Face of Defiance, (2015 - to date) is a portrait study of survivors of female genital mutilation (FGM), and those who campaign against it. I was asked to shoot this project by, and with, the international award winning FGM campaigner Leyla Hussein. The purpose was to assist campaigners in projecting survivors as strong and beautiful role models and thereby empowering and encouraging survivors to seek support. The Face of Defiance is managed by Diimex Australia and has been published in the UK media. My portrait of Leyla Hussein, taken for this project, was acquired by the National Portrait Gallery, London, in July 2016. As part of this project I was commissioned by the Wallace Global Fund and Human Dignity Foundation in 2016 to take portraits of US and international survivors of FGM for their first US FGM summit. These were exhibited in the National Museum for Women in the Arts and the US Institute for Peace.

My second ongoing project is VISAGE (2016 - to date) and is in collaboration with American choreographer Ken Ludden, director of the Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet in New York. This project is a newly choreographed fine art study of some of the world's leading ballet dancers from companies as broad as the English National Ballet, Royal Opera House, Berlin Staatsballett, Birmingham Royal Ballet, La Scala, Rambert and Miami City Ballet. My Home Page image of Ksenia Ovsyanick, principal at the Berlin Staatsballett, is taken from that project. My imagery from this project has resulted in my being nominated, and receiving, membership to the International Dance Council at UNESCO as a dance photographer.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss any requirements.
